Updates on Walgreens
- Nick from Walgreens was unable to attend tonight’s meeting.
- Correspondence has been taking place with Nick via Heather Harris and the co-chairs with local officials looped in.
- The goal is to send Nick weekly emails with pictures as evidence of any problems on the property.
- Just today, Jennifer went down to Walgreens to take pictures to use as a baseline. The broken fence around the back of the property needs to be fixed.
- Since there is no clean-up on weekends, and Walgreens claims that clean-up happens 5 times a week, Monday through Friday, the chairs feel that Tuesday would be a good day to do walk throughs to document any potential problems.
- Jennifer will send Heidi Nick’s email so that she can share her terrible experience of shopping there: empty shelves, dirty aisles, bad customer service with cashiers screaming at customers.
- Dianne will contact the city on the need to trim the city sidewalk trees that are blocking overhead lights on Savin Hill Avenue abutting Walgreens.
Update on the Bridgework at Savin Hill Station
- Des Rohan has been in touch with the MBTA to try to get someone to come to the March meeting to address the situation at the station and bridge.
- Rep. Dan Hunt has promised to reach out as well.
The Collapsed Guardrail at the end of Fox Point Road along the Boulevard
- Since the passageway at the end of the road has been clear cut, there is no longer a visual to block the view of the boulevard. It is an accident waiting to happen with confused drivers thinking Fox Point may be a through-street.
- Dianne will reach out again to Rep. Dan Hunt to see if we can expedite the replacement of the collapsed guardrail with reflector signs to enhance safety.
Next Safety Meeting: Tuesday, March 21, 7 PM on Zoom, link on the CSHCA calendar.
