Meeting minutes from the February 5th general meeting:

- A speaker from McCormack Civic Association asked members to sign a petition against the liquor store Stop and Shop is seeking to open.
- Nick Collins spoke about his campaign for State Senate. The special election primary will be held on April 3rd and the general on May 1, 2018.
- Announcements: the City of Boston Scholarship Fund awards scholarships up to $2,500.00 for new college-goers and continuing education students. See Boston.gov for more information.
- The Dorchester Chili Cookoff will be March 11th at 4:00 pm at the IBEW 103 Hall. The Banshee is providing our chili for this year.
- Eileen Boyle updated us about the plans for the Savin Hill playground.
- A representative from the new owners of the former Boston Globe site provided an update about the plans for the site. More information is available at the News & Events section of the CSHCA site.
- Update from Eileen Fenton regarding the Planning Committee. No votes taken.
- Update from Don Walsh about the Visioning Committee.

- A motion to pay $50.00 for the Dorchester Chili Cookoff registration fee passed
