Purpose

The Columbia-Savin Hill Civic Association Beautification Committee was formed in 2002 by residents concerned about the appearance of our neighborhood.  We work to establish and maintain various beautification programs and handle issues related to the maintenance of a clean, safe, and attractive community.  The committee works to organize social and educational programs specifically geared toward improving our neighborhood.  Our focus is also on working with residents and business owners to encourage site cleanliness, lawn maintenance, upkeep, and property improvements.

Annual programs may include a Spring seed sale and/or giveaway, the Plant & Bake Sale in late May, Bulb Sale & Bulb Planting in October, and the installation of Christmas wreaths along Dorchester and Savin Hill Avenues.  Additionally, wreaths are sold at the annual tree lighting at Ryan Playground (Dorchester Avenue & Harborview Street), the 1st Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Sign up for the newsletter to get information on upcoming meeting dates and events.

The Beautification Committee has struggled to continue some of its programming due to a lack of Committee Membership. If you would like to join the Beautification Committee or find out more about our activities, please contact Elizabeth Doyle at betdoy@hotmail.com.
