Meeting Minutes
February 2, 2004
7:00 - 9:00 pm.
Little House, East Cottage Street
The meeting was opened with Paul Nutting, President.
- INTRODUCTIONS
- Paul Nutting announced that the bill on the tax assessments has passed.
- POLICE REPORTS
STATE POLICE - Sargent Maloney - The smart lights project on Columbia Road starting
soon. Sgt. Maloney encouraged folks to obtain information about sex offenders living
in the neighborhood. The information is available through our local police station.

50 motor vehicle, 8 domestic violence, 5 warrants, 9 arrests
B&E at corner of Savin Hill Avenue & Sydney.
5 robberies, 3 of which were by Sudan street.
- Planning Committee Report - by Marlea Mesh
- 64 Pleasant St. - Gas station's request to increase storage tanks.
Withdrew application at ZBA will come back to CSHCA with site plan.
- Anthony Desmond - Regarding Dole's/Murphy's market. Proposal to build
condos. Planning Committee recommended that Anthony remodel the variety store
before proceeding with the plans for the condos.Anthony agreed that he would do that.
- Chris Poulas from 2 Pleasant Street came to request approval to install a
driveway at his residence.
VOTE:Motion made to support driveway by Joe
Chaisson, seconded by Nora McDonnell. No opposition. Motion was passed.
- Larry Baker came to request approval to have his Open Air Parking License at
Sovereign bank changed from a license with restricted dates to a license with no
restricted dates.
VOTE: Motion made by Nora McDonnell to support Larry's
proposal, seconded by Joe Chaisson, no opposition. Motion was passed.
- BC High School Project
- Mike Reardon & Justin Hall came to discuss the progress of the 63k sq. ft project
to connect buildings.
- West Link Park
- Representatives came from the Department of Conservation & Recreation (Old MDC & DEM)
to discuss the West Link Park project. This is the park behind the Bayside Exposition Center.
This is a 1.8 million dollar project. The project will start in the spring and will take about
18 months to complete. Call the DCR Community Affairs Department with questions or problems.
- 215 Sydney Street
- Nora McDonnell discussed the outcome of the meeting held the previous Saturday. The owner of
the building is beginning to look for tenants. This Committee will work to hopefully provide some
suggestions on good tenants and a good use for this building.
- Big Apple Circus - Bayside Expo Center
- Representative came from the Big Apple Circus. No representatives came from Bayside. Paul Nutting
received a letter earlier that day stating that due to a conflict a representative from Bayside would
not be in attendance.
- Discussion on the Big Apple Circus around concerns of where people will park and traffic and also
the fact that there will be several events going on at the same time. Christine Sulivan, from O'Neil
Associates handles the permitting for the Big Apple Circus. It was recommended that a meeting be set-up
with community members, elected officials and the Bayside to discuss the issues at hand.
